Slobodan Đuričković Čako

Born: 1943, Drenovštica kod Nikšića

Born on 11 March 1943 in Drenovštica near Nikšić. He graduated in 1972 from the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade, department of applied painting, in the class of Professor Rajko Nikolić. He has been a member of ULUS since 1975.

His painting is turned towards purely pictorial values and rests above all on drawing: he builds compositions from complex associative forms with restrained colour. The motifs range from allusions to the human figure and façades to organic, amorphous shapes.

Alongside painting, he taught for thirty-eight years at the Faculty of Applied Arts and Design, serving as vice-dean from 1985 to 1987. He has held five solo exhibitions (Belgrade, Brčko, Nikšić) and shown work at the October Salon and the ULUS Spring and Autumn salons. He is the author of wall compositions in the Cultural Centre in Zemun and the National Theatre in Belgrade.
